Website redesign for small businesses

Website Redesign Services

Website redesign services for small businesses across the UK, by Proxima, an independent studio in East London. If your site looks dated, is hard to change or has gone quiet on enquiries, Neda Yavari redesigns and rebuilds it herself. The pages that already bring in visitors are kept, every old address is redirected to its new page, and you get a fixed quote before any work starts.

When a redesign makes sense

Signs your website needs a Redesign

A new site, planned around the business you run today

We look at your current site before the first call. Then the new one is planned around the work you want more of and the questions clients ask before they get in touch. The design is made for your business rather than adapted from a theme, and it's built so you can change it yourself.

Common reasons owners ask for a redesign

  • It looks older than the business
  • Every small change means paying a developer
  • People visit but don't get in touch
  • It's awkward to use on a phone
  • Our last web designer stopped replying
  • We built it ourselves years ago
  • It doesn't list what we offer now
  • We're hard to find on Google

What stays

What your current site has earned comes across to the new one.

  • Pages that already bring in visitors
  • Content that still does its job
  • Your domain name
  • Your brand, unless you want a new one
Refresh or full redesign

Website refresh or a full Rebuild?

Not every site needs starting again. We look at yours before the call and tell you which it needs, even when the answer is the smaller job.

When better pages may be enough

A refresh

The site works, it just says too little

  • The design still suits the business
  • It works properly on a phone
  • You can already update it yourself
  • The problem is thin pages or weak SEO

If that sounds like your site, we'll say so on the call.

When starting again makes sense

A full redesign

The site is holding the business back

  • Pages are missing, or in the wrong place
  • Only a developer can make changes
  • It was built on a theme you've outgrown
  • The business or the brand has changed
  • Patching it would cost more than rebuilding

Quoted on enquiry, with a fixed price in writing.

Keeping your rankings

Redesign your website and keep your Rankings

Over the years your current site has built up things you can't see on the page, such as the addresses Google already shows, links from other sites and bookmarks people have saved. A redesign that ignores them can lose rankings that took years to build. So before anything changes, we list what the site already earns and plan the move around it.

Rankings can still move a little while Google gets to know the new site. We check them once it's live, and we won't promise first page positions, because nobody can guarantee them.

Website redesign questions

Questions about a website Redesign

Answers to the questions owners ask before a redesign. If yours is not here, send it with your quote request.

  • Every redesign is quoted on enquiry, because the price depends on the site: how many pages it needs, how much content comes across or needs rewriting, how many old addresses need redirecting, and which features you want. After a free discovery call you get a written proposal with the scope, the timeline, what you own at the end and a fixed price. Nothing is added quietly afterwards.

  • It depends on the size of the site and what your proposal includes. You get a firm timeline in the proposal before anything starts, and your current site stays online the whole time.

  • It shouldn't, if the move is planned. Before anything changes we list the pages that rank, the links pointing to them and the enquiries they bring in. Those pages keep their addresses or are redirected one by one, and we check rankings once the new site is live. Rankings can move a little while Google gets to know the new site, and we won't promise first page positions, because nobody can guarantee them.

  • The usual signs are a site that looks older than the business, one you can't change without a developer, pages that are awkward on a phone, or visitors who arrive and don't get in touch. If the design still works and the problem is thin pages or weak SEO, a redesign may not be the answer, and we'll tell you that on the call.

  • Yes. A redesign starts with your current site: the pages, content and addresses worth keeping come across to the new one. The design and the build are new.

  • Yes. Anything that still does its job is brought across, and pages that need it are tidied up. If your proposal includes copywriting, the page copy is also rewritten for your clients and for the searches they make. You check every page before it goes live.

  • No. The new site is built and reviewed alongside the old one, which stays online until you've approved the new site and it's ready to launch.

  • Your domain name stays the same and stays yours. At launch only the settings that point it at the website change, and we check where your email is set up beforehand so it carries on working.

  • Yes. It doesn't matter what your current site is built on. The pages, content and addresses worth keeping come across, the old addresses are redirected, and the new site is built on a visual editor that is easy for you to use.

  • Yes. We build on a visual editor, so changing text, fees, opening times or the team page doesn't need a developer. You get a walkthrough of the new site at launch, and if you'd rather not make changes yourself, we can make them for you.

  • Yes. The website, the domain and the content belong to you, and you can take full ownership whenever you choose, with no requirement to keep working with us. Any help after launch is optional.

  • No. We can work with your current logo, colours and fonts. If you'd like a new look as well, brand design can be part of your proposal.

  • Neda Yavari, the founder of Proxima. She designs, writes and builds every redesign herself, so the person on your first call is the person doing the work and answering your emails after launch.

  • Through your own client portal. It shows every stage of the project, lets you comment on the designs at phone, tablet and desktop sizes, and records your approval of each stage. Your files live there too, and you get an email when something needs you. You can still call or email Neda whenever you like.

  • You get a walkthrough of the new site and a period of support after launch. After that, help with updates, security, performance checks and SEO is available if you want it. None of it is required.
