Legal Marketing

Legal marketing guides for UK solicitors and law firms, covering SRA rules, law firm SEO, price transparency and what wins new instructions.

Legal marketing guides

Marketing a small UK law firm

Clients now compare firms before they instruct one, and they do it on a phone. Regulated status, reputation and price are the three things they check, usually in that order, and a firm's website either answers all three in the first minute or loses to one that does.

Legal marketing is also unusually constrained. SRA rules govern what you can claim and how you may approach people, the transparency rules require price and complaints information on the site itself, and referral fees in personal injury have been banned since 2013. Guides written for other industries will walk you into trouble without ever mentioning it.

These guides cover where new instructions genuinely come from, why paid search in law is expensive enough that organic and local work has to carry the load for a smaller firm, and how to build practice area and town pages that rank.
